Today's skate culture is booming and learning a hobby such as skating is great exercise, as well as, an effective way of providing a positive outlet. Creating a place for youth to skate lessens the amount of vandalism in our city.

Purpose: to provide a place for kids and young adults to skate and hangout and could lessen the amount of screen time.

Why is a skatepark needed: to help combat childhood obesity and gang affiliation/violence. Also, now that skateboarding has become popular again there has been a rise in property vandalism.
